Aston Villa have made a bid for Yves Bissouma, but the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder wants to join Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur, according to 90min.
Aston Villa bid for Tottenham target Yves Bissouma
90min have reported that Villa, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle United and West Ham United all are keen on securing the services of Bissouma from Premier League rivals Brighton in the summer transfer window.
Steven Gerrard’s Villa have already submitted a bid to the Seagulls, but the Mali international midfielder favours a move to Tottenham, according to the report.
The Times had earlier claimed that Tottenham have agreed a £25 million deal with Brighton over Bissouma, described by Arsenal legend Ian Wright as “sensational” on Wrighty’s House Podcast in August 2021.
Bissouma will reportedly undergo a medical at Tottenham on Thursday.

Villa Park transfer always unlikely
In our view, it was always unlikely that Yves Bissouma would join Aston Villa when clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are involved.
Tottenham will play in the Champions League next season and have a world-class manager in Antonio Conte.
Villa are unlikely to even challenge for the Premier League top six in the coming years.
Leaving Brighton for Tottenham would be a step-up for Bissouma, who was never going to move to Villa this summer.
