John Terry is said to be Aston Villa’s players’ choice for their next manager.

Aston Villa could be about to take a massive risk, if they are to appoint John Terry as manager.
However, giving Terry his first chance is management, would be a major risk for the claret and blues to take.
Granted, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have both shown that rookie bosses can make an impact in their first job, but the path is also littered with ex-players who have tried and failed to take the step into management.

Terry shows all the capabilities to be a success as a manager, but taking over at Villa would be difficult.
Terry would immediately face the challenge of winning over the respect of players who became his friends last season, while he was playing with them.
He would have to start asserting a different kind of authority, and forming a different bond with players who were his teammates just last season.
And although Terry may be a good addition to Villa’s coaching staff, having him as their boss would be a huge risk.
