Tributes pour in for West Brom’s Gareth Barry as he makes a record-breaking 633rd Premier League appearances against Arsenal.
Gareth Barry of West Bromwich Albion applauds the crowd after his record 633rd Premier League appearance following the Premier League match against Arsenal.
No player has played more Premier League games in history than Gareth Barry, who featured in his 633rd as West Bromwich Albion travelled to Arsenal on Monday (September 25) night.
The game at the Emirates Stadium moved Barry one appearance ahead of Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs and caps off a wonderful run that stretches all the way back to 1998.

Barry made his debut in the top flight of English football 19 years ago having come through the ranks at Aston Villa, a club he went on to captain before leaving for Manchester City in 2009.
While at the Etihad Stadium the 36-year-old won both the FA Cup and the league title, before joining Everton permanently in the summer of 2014 after a successful season on loan.
Barry was named the Toffees’ player of the year in his final campaign at Goodison Park in 2016/17 before going on to West Brom and now breaking this record – which is made all the more impressive by virtue of the fact that 601 of his matches have been starts.
The tributes have been pouring in for the midfielder – who also has 53 caps for England – from his former clubs, to ex-teammates.
