Aston Villa and Swansea City are reportedly in talks over a swap deal involving Jordan Ayew and Modou Barrow, according to Sunday’s edition of The People.
Villa have already made two new signings this month, as goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and midfielder Henri Lansbury have arrived from Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest respectively.

However, manager Steve Bruce is still in the market for new signings, and he appears to be in the market for a new winger, given how Villa have largely been using square pegs in a round hole on the left wing.
Now, The People (Sunday’s edition) report that Villa are in talks with Premier League side Swansea City over a potential swap deal involving attacker Jordan Ayew and winger Modou Barrow.

Ayew, 25, has scored 10 goals in 48 games for Villa since joining from Lorient back in the summer of 2015, but he’s looked uncomfortable out wide, and there doesn’t appear to be a spot for him in attack.
The Ghanaian may now follow in the footsteps of his brother Andre by joining Swansea, with Villa keen to take 24-year-old Gambian winger Barrow in the opposite direction. The former Ostersunds ace has notched two assists in 18 Premier League appearances this season, but his blistering pace has seen him catch the eye.
Unsurprisingly the talk of a swap deal has sparked a real reaction on Twitter, with some Villa fans suggesting that Barrow would be a better fit for the team right now than Ayew, who doesn’t appear to have a clear role under Bruce, but others feel that a straight swap wouldn’t be good value for Villa, and some don’t want Barrow at all.
Meanwhile, many Swansea fans believe that Ayew would be more of a threat for them than Barrow is, and with the club battling relegation, they’re hoping to see improvement from anywhere they can get it – though others aren’t quite so sure that Swansea would be getting a great deal, meaning both sets of fans are torn on the prospect of a swap.
