Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Barry Bannan.

Bannan featured for Wednesday in their Championship match against Villa away from home at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.

The 28-year-old midfielder started the game and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Owls won 2-1.

The Scotland international started his professional club football career at Villa and left the Villans in 2013.

Bannan has been on the books of Wednesday since 2015 and has established himself as an important player for the Owls.

The Scotland international is one of the best midfielders in the Championship and played well for Wednesday against Villa.

The former Palace man has scored two goals and provided one assist in nine Championship appearances for Wednesday so far this season, according to WhoScored.

Villa and Wednesday fans were impressed with the display produced by Bannan and have praised him on Twitter.
