Aston Villa’s Aaron Tshibola is set to join Nottingham Forest.

Aaron Tshibola only joined Aston Villa over the summer, but he’s already set to leave the club, with a loan move to Nottingham Forest on the verge of completion.

Tshibola, 22, arrived from Reading in a £5million deal (Mirror) over the summer, with Villa fans excited about a promising new arrival who had flashed real ability with the Royals.

However, Tshibola has struggled to live up to his price tag this season, as he’s started just five league games this season, making an additional three substitute appearances.

Tshibola has already been fighting with the likes of Ashley Westwood, Mile Jedinak and Gary Gardner, but his hopes of playing regularly under Steve Bruce have been dented by a host of signings during this month’s transfer window.

Birkir Bjarnason, Conor Hourihane and Henri Lansbury have all arrived at Villa Park this month, meaning Tshibola is slipping even further down the pecking order – and he appears to be on the move ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

The Birmingham Mail report that Villa have agreed to send Tshibola out on loan to Championship rivals Nottingham Forest, enabling him to play regular first-team football.

With a deal set to be announced, Villa fans have taken to Twitter in order to react to the news, with many suggesting that they’re glad to see him go and play more football as he has major potential, though some aren’t sure he’ll ever return to play a big part under manager Steve Bruce.

Forest supporters also offered their views, claiming that Tshibola is a good signing given the club’s recent struggles, though others believe that he may not be good enough given that he has struggled to make an impact with Villa.
