The Championship pair and seven Premier League clubs were in attendance.

Reports in Portugal are suggesting that scouts from several Premier League and Championship clubs attended a Champions League clash last night.

A Bola reported that the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle United and West Ham United were all in attendance for the game between Porto and Club Brugge – along with several other clubs from the UK. Chelsea, Leicester City, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and West Brom were also said to be present. Foreign clubs such as Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus were also at the fixture.

Porto won the game 1-0 thanks to a goal from Andre Silva – who was believed to be attracting the admiring eyes of some of the bigger clubs represented at the game.

So who were Aston Villa, Newcastle, West Ham and co keeping tabs on?

Porto had plenty of talent on show – including the likes of talented left-back Alex Telles and Euro 2016 winner Danilo Pereira. But considering the price-tag Porto have for even their squad players Brugge look more likely to have the players under scrutiny.

Talented playmaker Hans Vanaken immediately springs to mind whilst talented defender Stefano Denswil would also make a shrewd acquisition.

It will be interesting to see if any players from either side soon find themselves linked with Aston Villa, Newcastle, West Ham or any of the teams mentioned.
