Ahmed Elmohamady appears to be closing in on a move from Aston Villa to Hull City.
Aston Villa and Hull fans have been reacting to the news that Sky Sports reported earlier today that the Villans have triggered the release clause in Ahmed Elmohamady’s contract.
Sky Sports reports that the Egypt international has returned home early from Hull’s pre-season tour of Portugal to discuss a potential move to the Villans after the Tigers’ Championship rivals activated the clause in his deal at the KCOM Stadium.

It will perhaps come as little surprise to fans of both clubs that Villa have made a move for the 29-year-old, with the wide-man signing for Bruce on a number of occasions throughout his career.
It was Bruce who signed him for Sunderland back in 2011, and he subsequently brought him to Hull twice on loan – the second occasion coming shortly after he had been recalled by the Black Cats – before signing him permanently in 2013.
The news has, interestingly, received a fairly negative reaction from supporters of both clubs.
While some Villa fans appear to believe that he may prove to be an astute signing due to his versatility and Premier League experience, other supporters are underwhelmed about the prospect of a deal.

Meanwhile, Hull fans have been left angered with Elmohamady seemingly on the verge of becoming the latest first-team player to join another side this summer – with Harry Maguire and Josh Tymon both remaining in the Premier League, while Curtis Davies and Tom Huddlestone have both joined Hull’s Championship rivals Derby County.
Here is the best of the reaction…
