Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic and Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa have been linked with Nick Powell of Wigan Athletic in the summer transfer window.

Nick Powell may have failed to make a huge impact at Manchester United, but the versatile attacker is playing well for Wigan Athletic, and there is little surprise that Celtic and Aston Villa are reported to be interested in him.
Celtic are planning to make an offer for Powell in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun (print edition, page 60, February 4, 2018) (click here to read more).

The Sun (print edition, page 63, March 4, 2018) has credited Villa and Brighton and Hove Albion with interest in the former England Under-21 international, who can operate as a midfielder or as a striker (click here to read more).
Powell has been in good form this season and played well at the weekend, as he scored in the 2-0 win against Bury in League One – and perhaps his price-tag will increase in the coming months.

According to The Daily Mail’s live transfer feed on January transfer deadline day (January 31, 2018; 16:22), Wigan were looking for £15 million as transfer fee to part company with the former United midfielder (click here to read more).
If Wigan get promoted to the Championship from League One – as they are expected to – and Powell adds to the 13 goals and four assists he already has in the league, then the Latics could well increase their asking price for the 24-year-old former Crewe Alexandra man.
