If Leeds United are interested in signing Jack Marriott then now would be the time to strike.

According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa and Birmingham City have been priced out of a move for Peterborough United’s Jack Marriott, which could be a boost to Leeds United’s chances of landing the striker.

Marriott has become one of the most feared front men in the Football League, with the 23-year-old currently attracting a lot of attention.

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph suggested that Leeds were one of the clubs interested in Marriott, and it seems that their competition for the striker’s signature has been reduced.

Both Villa and Birmingham simply cannot afford the jet-heeled forward, which now may move Leeds to the front of the queue for his signature.

Leeds may have spent a sizeable amount of money on Adam Forshaw, but they are believed to have funds to invest.

With Posh putting a £6 million price tag on Marriott, according to the Birmingham Post, Leeds would have to show a considerable amount of faith to snap up the striker.

But, with the competition out of the way, now may be the time to strike for Leeds, if they feel Marriott is the man to fire them to promotion.
