On-loan Aston Villa midfielder Robert Snodgrass has applauded Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson on Instagram after the defender helped Liverpool earn a place in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Jurgen Klopp’s side booked their place at Kiev on May 26 despite losing 4-2 to Roma in Italy, going through 7-6 on aggregate thanks to their 5-2 victory at Anfield last month.

Robertson, 24, starred on the left side of defence for Liverpool, working tirelessly to nullify the likes of Stephane El-Sharaawy, Patrik Schick and Edin Dzeko.

Snodgrass, who teams up with Robertson on Scotland duty and was his teammate at Hull City, posted on his Instagram story that he was “proud” of his “buddy” Robertson.
