Galatasaray want to bring Mahmoud ‘Trezeguet’ Hassan back to Turkey with the winger facing an uncertain future at Premier League giants Aston Villa, as reported by Fanatik.
A £9 million from Kasimpasa in the summer of 2019, Trezeguet might not be the most gifted attacker ever to wear that iconic claret-and-blue shirt but he’s certainly had his moments.
Who could forget that spine-tingling, stoppage-time winner in the EFL Cup semi-final victory over Leicester City two years ago?
Or that match-winning brace against Crystal Palace a few months later? That decisive strike against Arsenal, one that played a massive role in keeping Aston Villa in the Premier League?
If Trezeguet does follow Anwar El Ghazi out the door before February’s transfer deadline, he will depart with the good grace of everyone connected with the Midland giants.
Has Trezeguet played his last game for Aston Villa?
According to Fanatik, Super Lig giants Galatasaray have reached out to the 27-year-old, enquiring about whether he’d be interested in a mid-season move to Istanbul.
Trezeguet tore the Turkish top-flight apart during his superb spell at Kasimpasa between 2017 and 2019. He scored 22 goals in 65 games for the Beyoglu-based club.

Interestingly, the Egypt international came very close to joining Galatasaray when leaving Kasimpasa nearly three years ago.
The 22-time Super Lig champions offered Trezeguet a contract worth £37,000-a-week.
They were pipped to the post, however, by an Aston Villa side preparing for their long-awaited return to the Promised Land.
Trezeguet has played just 10 minutes of top-flight football this season. He made his first appearance off the bench in the recent 2-1 defeat to Brentford after recovering from knee surgery.
And the high-profile arrival of Philippe Coutinho on loan from La Liga giants Barcelona could close the door on Trezeguet’s hopes of a Villa Park revival under Steven Gerrard.
El Ghazi, another winger, joined top-flight rivals Everton on loan this week with Lucas Digne moving in the other direction.
