Aston Villa attacker Andre Green has said on Twitter that he is “ready and focused” which could suggest that he has finally overcome his hamstring operation.

The 19-year-old ace suffered the muscle injury back in September, over three months ago, during a 0-0 draw against Brentford which saw the versatile ace replaced in the 60th minute.

Now, the two-time England Under-20 international could be set to return to Steve Bruce’s side after going under the knife, with Villa looking to make it six games unbeaten away at Derby County on Saturday.

Green posted on Twitter the three-word verdict, with Bruce’s side struggling with a number of injuries that sees striker trio Gabriel Agbonlahor, Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan sidelined as well as veteran defender John Terry.

Before the injury, Green had five appearances for the Midlands giants and even found the back of the net in a 4-2 win over Norwich City, a match in which Ireland international Conor Hourihane struck a superb hat-trick.

Villa will be looking to get back to winning ways after two successive draws against Leeds United and Millwall, but will come up against a Derby side that have won four out of their last five.

The Midlands giants will be buoyed by their recent record against Gary Rowett’s men, winning four of the two side’s last five meetings including a 1-0 win over the Rams in February 2017 thanks to James Chester’s goal.
