The Aston Villa star expressed his delight at playing under new boss Dean Smith.
Aston Villa’s on-loan ace Axel Tuanzebe sat down for an exclusive interview with the Express & Star, and hinted that he is far happier playing and training under Dean Smith than he was under the tutelage of Steve Bruce.
Villa have made a poor start to their Championship campaign, and they currently sit in 17th spot in the table, having taken just 18 points from their first 15 outings.
Whilst Smith’s arrival at Villa Park was expected to coincide with an upturn in fortunes for the west Midlands outfit, Villa have made a slow start to life under their new boss.
Villa have lost two of the three games that Smith has been in charge of, and they will need to start winning matches sooner rather than later.
Tuanzebe offered high words of praise for his new boss, however, when speaking exclusively to the Express & Star, hinting that he is happier playing under the former Brentford boss than he was when Bruce was in charge:
“You can see from his (Smith’s) past clubs how they play football, we’re building out from the back, it’s not as direct as we used to be, but it’s still a good way of building and improving our way of playing. It gives us a variety of ways to create chances. I’ve enjoyed his training sessions, his methods of play so it’s been good so far. It suits my type of play, it’s the type of play we have back at United. It’s all beneficial for me to carry it on from here back into my home club so there’s nothing better for me.”
Next up for Villa is a home game against Bolton Wanderers on Friday night, and nothing less than all three points will do for Smith’s beleaguered troops.
