The former Tottenham man joked when the Everton winger scored against his old club.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto took to Twitter to joke around with Tottenham Hotspur fans on Sunday afternoon – but many weren’t amused!
Indeed, the former Tottenham left-back, who left after spending many months in the wilderness at White Hart Lane, poked fun at seeing a ‘good story’ on his TV when Aaron Lennon scored for Everton against the north London side.
Dele Alli later equalised but Assou-Ekotto’s joke had already been seen by many as his former club played the Toffees on Sky Sports.
As the goal went in, Assou-Ekotto tweeted ‘good story on my TV… LOL.’ He later deleted it but posted another follow-up while Tottenham were still losing.
After his former club equalised, the 31-year-old teased fans with the following post:

It’s safe to say they weren’t best pleased!
