The return of Britt Assombalonga could be huge for the direction of Nottingham Forest’s season.
Nottingham Forest have been floundering in the Championship for years now, but this year more than ever their fans don’t really know where they stand. After a good run of form that got them back in the play-off hunt they have gone three games without a victory, and they seem destined for another season of mid-table mediocrity.

So what do they do to turn things round? Step right up Britt Assombalonga. The powerful forward’s return could well prove to be the catalyst for a surge up the table, and his natural ability in comparison to the rest of the squad is staggering.
It can draw some comparisons to Nouha Dicko in that people may be building him up as a saviour only to be slightly let down, but the expectations aren’t necessarily as high for Forest as they are for Wolves.

It seems to be a work in progress at the City Ground and it may take a year or two before they are properly contending for promotion again. Forest’s inconsistency is clearly a problem and perhaps under Assombalonga they can steer themselves towards a solid top half finish at the very least.
