Alisson isn’t just a brilliant goalkeeper, according to one Liverpool coach.
The Brazilian stopper is one of the best in the world in his respective positions, having led the Reds to Champions League glory last season and to the brink of a Premier League title this time around.
But according to assistant goalkeeping coach at Liverpool, the former Roma star is equally as impressive with his feet as he is with his hands.
Alisson plays an outfield role during 5-a-side games during training sessions at Melwood, and Jack Robinson has compared the big Brazilian to Pirlo.
Robinson told Liverpool’s official website: “Unbelievable! He’s like Pirlo or someone like that.
“He’s really comfortable on the ball and wants to receive it under pressure. Like you see in the games, that nerve strength, that calmness, he’s able to play when there’s chaos all around him.”
These quotes will come as little surprise to Liverpool fans, who have seen Alisson’s ball-playing abilities at times during his two-year stint at Anfield.
From ball control to distribution, the 27-year-old really is a next-level goalkeeper and he’s worth every penny of the £65 million that was spent on him [The Guardian] back in 2018.
