West Ham United striker Sebastien Haller has had a solid start at the club since his summer move from Eintracht Frankfurt.

He has scored four goals in nine Premier League games so far.

Former Hammers forward Dean Ashton has acknowledged Haller’s contribution, but said he wants to see more from the forward.

Ashton feels Haller is yet to show the ‘wow’ factor.

He told Goal: “He has shown so many good signs of the quality player that he is. When the ball comes into him, his hold-up play is very good.

“He’s got himself a couple of goals. We’re just still waiting to see that glimpse of absolute quality in terms of his finishing. He hasn’t scored a goal yet when I’ve gone ‘wow’. That’s the mark of a top striker.”

Ashton’s comments on Haller are pretty fair. Even the Frenchman would probably admit he has yet to really show what he is capable of.

He has not scored in his last two games, with West Ham only scoring once in total over the past 180 minutes.

The Hammers paid a lot of money for Haller and West Ham want to see him pushing the 20 goal mark.

There is still time, but Haller needs to go on a bit of a run. At home to Newcastle this weekend would be a great place to start.
