Watford was where it all began for Ashley Young, at the start of a career which took in Aston Villa, Manchester United, Inter Milan, the European Championship and World Cup.
Young only moved to the San Siro in January but the 2013 Premier League winner has been talking about the prospect of finishing his career with the Hornets.
He spoke to the Golden Tales podcast about his enduring love for Watford, and says it still feels like home.
““I will always say it’s my home. For me, at my age now, you can ask my family, you can ask my agent,” said Young.
“If I had the opportunity to go back and finish my career at Watford I would jump at the chance.”
“If I could go back and play there [at Watford] again, I would walk from Italy right now because it’s what I know, it’s where I come from and it’s what allowed me to be who I am and get where I am.
“It gave me a humble beginning.”

Young’s enthusiastic celebration after scoring a free kick at Vicarage Road may prove a barrier, but that’s something else he addressed in the podcast.
It remains to be seen whether this actually happens, and perhaps it would depend on Watford getting back into the Premier League.
But it’s clear that Young still holds Watford in high esteem and this might be one to watch as his time at Inter winds down.
