The striker joined West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
West Ham United youngster Ashley Fletcher has admitted to the club’s official website that he did not expect to be involved this early in his career at the club.
The 21-year-old arrived at the club this summer after being released by Manchester United.
His move was made with an eye for the future but he has since found himself playing a role in the first team.
Last weekend, in particular, he came off the bench to help turn the game against Stoke City.

His number of performances has been somewhat surprising and he has admitted he was not expected to feature as much as he had.
“I didn’t expect to be this involved but every opportunity I get, I try and make an impact on the pitch,” he told the club’s official website.
“I am hungry to do more, I am hungry to help this team and I am hungry to score more goals. Hopefully, I will get more opportunities.”

Fletcher will now be hoping he can play a bigger part moving forward and can help the Hammers improve on their disappointing start to the season.
Slaven Bilic’s side are currently 17th in the table after 11 games, just a point outside of the relegation zone.
Scoring goals has been one of their big problems and perhaps giving Fletcher his chance to impress could help fix that issue.
