The former Chelsea and Arsenal defender has written off Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League title chances.

Former Arsenal and Chelsea defender Ashley Cole has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur will not win the Premier League title this season.

The former England international left-back made the prediction following the game between Chelsea and Tottenham on Saturday evening.

Spurs took an early lead at Stamford Bridge, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side ended up losing the London derby 2-1.

Cole, now on the books of Major League Soccer outfit Los Angeles Galaxy, was following the match, and he hit back brilliantly at a Tottenham fan, as the following tweets show.

The defeat to Chelsea means that Tottenham remain outside of the top four in the Premier League table for the time being.

Spurs are currently fifth in the standings with 24 points from 13 matches, a point behind fourth-placed and bitter North London rivals Arsenal, who have a game in hand.

Pochettino’s side are seven points behind leaders Chelsea, and they are facing a battle in challenging for the Premier League title.

It is too early to write off Tottenham’s title chances, but the North London outfit do need to put together a run of positive results soon.
