Former Arsenal and Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole praised Liverpool attacking midfielder Adam Lallana on the Monday Night Football show on Sky Sports Main Event on Monday night (10:14pm, February 4, 2019) following the match against West Ham United at the London Stadium in the Premier League.

Lallana got a rare start for Liverpool, as the Reds played out a 1-1 draw with West Ham.

The 30-year-old England international started the match and played for 69 minutes, and took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 81.6%, won one header, made one tackle, and played one key pass, according to WhoScored.

So far this season, the former Southampton star has made three starts and six substitute appearances in the Championship for Liverpool, according to WhoScored.

Former England international left-back Cole was impressed with the performance of Lallana and has also praised the attacking midfielder.

Cole said about Lallana after the match on the Monday Night Football show on Sky Sports Main Event on Monday night (10:14pm, February 4, 2019): “He did well. He crossed about 20 times.”

The Derby County left-back added: “He is technically gifted, and you know, in these tight situations, this is when you need your top players with quick feet to get out of dangerous situations.”

The draw with West Ham means that Liverpool are now at the top of the Premier League table with 62 points from 25 matches, three points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
