Burnley front-man Ashley Barnes spoke to Sky Sports reporters at 14:34 yesterday, in the aftermath of his side’s hard-fought 2-1 win over Tottenham at Turf Moor, and admitted that he and his teammates targeted Juan Foyth.

Spurs dominated the ball for large spells of the game against the Clarets, but Sean Dyche’s men always posed a threat, and their hard work and industry eventually paid off when Barness tapped in from close range with 10 minutes remaining to earn his side all three points.

Tottenham are now surely out of the Premier League title race, with five points separating them and Manchester City and Liverpool in the table.

Many Spurs fans were critical of Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to play Juan Foyth in central defence yesterday, with he 21-year-old seeming to be out of his depth.

And Burnley ace Barnes responded when asked whether he and his teammates targeted the Argentine, when speaking to Sky Sports reporters at 14:34 yesterday:

“Yeh, you could say that, we did a little bit, but they’re all top players.”

Foyth is undoubtedly talented, but it seems as though he has a lot to learn, before he can be a dependable member of Tottenham’s first-team, and a spell out of the limelight might just do the youngster the world of good.
