Newcastle United would benefit for Chelsea’s Victor Moses’ direct style, should they decide to make a move.

Sky Sports have reported this morning that Georginio Wijnaldum could be on his way out of Newcastle United after Liverpool’s bid of £25 million was accepted by the club.

If the Dutchman does eventually leave, Rafa Benitez will surely look for a versatile attacker who can play anywhere along the front-line, especially after losing Andros Townsend as well earlier this summer.

The Magpies should look no further than Chelsea forward Victor Moses. The 25-year-old Nigerian winger is still yet to properly announce himself on the Premier league stage, after being farmed out on loan to three separate clubs over the past three seasons.

Spells at Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United didn’t prove as successful as he would have liked, but he did show what he is capable of in glimpses. His direct, powerful style would be ideally suited to Rafa’s men, and his presence would go someway towards filling the void left behind by Townsend , and now potentially Wijnaldum.

Moses can play out wide on either flank, or more centrally, and is a wonderfully versatile player to have as part of a squad. There is a feeling that his next move must be a permanent one, because it must have never be easy for him to fully settle at a club when his long-term future has been unclear.

He has so much potential and is a hugely exciting talent, but his chances of first-team football will surely be limited at Chelsea, with competition for places fierce. A move to St James’ Park could potentially reignite his career, and provide him with the opportunity to show his true colours.

His ability to interchange from left to right throughout the match would give Rafa the option of changing things up if things aren’t going to plan, without actually having to make any changes to the personnel.

At the age of just 25, Moses still has many years left within the game, and could improve even further to become a truly top-level Premier League player. If a move to Newcastle ever materialised, it would be ideal for both player and club, and Moses may finally be able to show Premier League fans what he is capable of.
