Speaking on The Overlap, Gary Neville has been discussing Antonio Conte and his exit strategy at Tottenham Hotspur.
As enamoured as Spurs fans are with Conte right now, things could change very quickly in north London.
Indeed, Conte is known for quickly becoming unsettled in his jobs and causing problems for the board, and Neville believes that the same thing will happen at Spurs halfway through next season.
The pundit says that Conte will begin to cause some angst behind the scenes in six months’ time, so that he can leave the club and make all of Tottenham’s issues look like the board’s fault.

Neville spoke about Conte and how he falls out with the clubs he works for.
“He does it everywhere he goes, he creates that, as sure as day he will create that angst in his press conferences in the next 6-8 months or 12 months to create a point that he can leave and it will look like the board’s fault. That’s what he does, he does it really well, he did it at Chelsea, he’s a master of it,” Neville said.
No excuse
Conte may well kick up a fuss in a few months’ time, but it’s Tottenham’s job to make sure he has no excuse to.
If Spurs back him adequately in the transfer market, which it looks like they will, he will have nobody to point the finger at and nobody to blame for any potential shortcomings.
Of course, that’s easier said than done at Tottenham. Daniel Levy has been a thorn in the side of many a manager over the years, and if he doesn’t back Conte in the same way he didn’t back Mauricio Pochettino, then there may well be questions to answer.
