The Italian has started to find his form at the San Siro.

Unlike Serie A leaders Napoli, AC Milan booked their place in the next round of the UEFA Europa League last night.

The Rossoneri completed a 4-0 aggregate win over Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad last night, with a 1-0 win at the San Siro.

The man who got the winning goal on the night, will be very familiar to Sunderland fans.

Fabio Borini of Sunderland in action during the Premier League match between Chelsea and Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on May 21, 2017 in London, England.

It was Italian international Fabio Borini who got the goal, scoring in the 21st minute of the game. It was not his first goal of the tie either. He scored in the 90th minute in the away leg in Bulgaria and it is all part of a little green patch for the forward. He also found the net against SPAL a fortnight ago so has three goals in four games for one of the most iconic teams in football.

This comes after an extended dry-patch for the Sunderland owned player, who had not scored since the 6-0 win against Shkendija in August prior to his February heroics.

It is perfect timing for Borini, as he looks to secure a permanent move, but Sunderland fans won’t enjoy seeing it.

Whilst Borini is finding his feet with Milan, they are looking increasingly doomed in the Championship.

Bottom of the table and woefully out of form, the appointment of Chris Coleman has not helped Sunderland in their battle for survival.

Next up for the Black Cats is a derby game with Middlesbrough on Saturday, with the Teesiders chasing promotion. Borini will be taking on Roma in the Stadio Olimpico looking to continue his good form.

The grass is certainly greener for the 26-year-old Italian.
