Speaking on ESPN, Stuart Robson has answered a question about the idea of Arsenal signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
It may sound ridiculous, but the question does make sense when you read it.
Indeed, one fan wrote in pointing out the fact that Haaland is on a similar development timeline of a number of Arsenal’s key players, and if they grow together, they could form something of a dynasty.
While the idea of Haaland growing alongside the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in mouth-watering, Robson believe there’s no chance that the 16-goal striker will be headed to the Emirates.
What’s been said?
The pundit discussed the idea of the Norwegian going to Arsenal.
“If Arsenal finish fourth or better, is there any chance they catch the eye of Haaland? All the key players are on the same timeline and they’d potentially have years together to gather trophies,” The host asked.
“No, not a hope in hell’s chance. Haaland wouldn’t go to Arsenal at the moment. Yes, they’re doing ok and they might get into the top four, but he wants to go and win things. He’s not going to win the Premier League or the Champions League with Arsenal, that’s as simple as that,” Robson said.

Better off at Dortmund
As intriguing as the idea of Haaland joining the youth revolution at Arsenal sounds, you have to imagine that he’d be better off staying at Borussia Dortmund if that’s what he wants.
The Bundesliga outfit have an even better young core than Arsenal with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Donyell Malen, Giovani Reyna and Youssoufa Moukoko coming through.
Haaland looks set to join one of Europe’s superpowers, but if he wanted to play for a team with a promising future, he’d be better off staying where he is.
