Rangers have brought Lassana Coulibaly to Ibrox today.

Rangers tied up yet another signing earlier today, as they confirmed the arrival of Angers midfielder Lassana Coulibaly on a season-long loan deal.
The Gers have been active this summer as they look to boost Steven Gerrard’s options in his first term as Rangers boss, and Coulibaly is another player for the 38-year-old to work with this coming season.
Coulibaly’s arrival means that manager Gerrard has a host of options in midfield, even after allowing Jason Holt to reunite with Joey Barton at Fleetwood Town – and it’s hard to see another midfielder arrive.
Gerrard started with Ross McCrorie and Scott Arfield in midfield against Bury on Friday, whilst he will also have Ryan Jack, Graham Dorrans, Ovie Ejaria, Andy Halliday, Greg Dochery, Jordan Rossiter and now Coulibaly all at his disposal.
With all those options, Gerrard surely won’t be in the market for another midfielder, and that may just just rule out a move for Southampton’s Steven Davis after all.
Sky Sports recently reported that Rangers were keen to bring Davis back to Ibrox, after seeing the Northern Ireland international leave for Southampton back in the summer of 2012, having made more than 200 appearances for Rangers.

Davis, 33, is out of favour at Southampton and would bring great experience to this Rangers side, but with Coulibaly’s arrival, it seems that Rangers are focusing on youth and energy over another veteran presence.
That could all change if somebody like Jack, Dorrans or Halliday leave, but a return to Ibrox is looking less and less likely for Davis, and the ship may have already sailed on a move back to Glasgow for the midfielder.
