Newcastle are linked with Atletico Madrid attacker.
Newcastle United have made an ambitious approach for Atletico Madrid attacker Angel Correa, according to the Chronicle
Correa would be a tremendous addition to Newcastle, but their interest could spark interest from Rafa Benitez’s former side Liverpool.
It was claimed last month by Foot Mercato, that Liverpool were in talks to sign the forward, who Atletico valued at above £24 million.

Correa’s versatility makes him an ideal signing for the Reds, due to his ability to play on the wing or up front.
He managed eight assists in 10 starts last season, featuring a further 21 times from the bench. He scored eight times in all competitions.

Newcastle face an uphill battle to sign the 22-year-old, and Liverpool would have a major edge due to the fact they are competing for the title and can offer Champions League football.
It could be a mistake for Liverpool to stand by and simply let him move to Newcastle.
Atletico will take some convincing, and the fee required may be too much for Newcastle, but if Rafa Benitez’s side do pull it off then the deal will look all the more impressive.
