Don Hutchison has urged Liverpool on Twitter to hand Georginio Wijnaldum a new contract.
The former Liverpool midfielder was impressed by the performance of Wijnaldum during the Reds’ 2-0 win against Sheffield United on Sunday evening.
The Netherlands international had yet another good game in the middle of the park and helped the defending English champions to all three points from the Premier League encounter.
Wijnaldum is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season, and Hutchison believes that the Merseyside club simply have to keep him at Anfield.
Dilemma for Liverpool
Wijnaldum is a regular in the Liverpool team and is a key figure in manager Jurgen Klopp’s side.
According to WhoScored, the 30-year-old has made 24 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring two goals in the process.

The former Newcastle United star has also made five starts and one substitute appearance in the Champions League for the Reds this campaign, according to WhoScored.
While it would make sense to hand the Dutchman a new contract now given his quality and importance to the team, he is 30 and is unlikely to be on top of his game in the next two or three years.
