As Klich gets pushed towards Leeds exit, former side Twente need him more than ever

Leeds United midfielder should return to FC Twente.

Out of favour Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich moved closer to an exit this week as the club signed Middlesbrough’s Adam Forshaw.

The Yorkshire Evening Post report that Klich is now expected to move on this January.

Polish outlet Przegladsportowy reported in November that he was looking for a loan exit.

Klich’s situation has got worse since then, blowing his chance to impress in the FA Cup, and now Forshaw’s arrival.

The move which makes sense for Klich is simply an immediate return to former side FC Twente.

After joining Twente in 2016, Klich’s performances last season helped the club finish seventh in the Eredivisie.

This season it has been a very different story. Twente sit in 16th place of 18 teams, and are stuck in a relegation battle.

Bringing back former star Klich would no doubt be a very popular move, and would suit the player too.

Klich is hoping to still make Poland’s squad for the World Cup, but his chances are fading quickly on the Leeds bench.

A return to Holland would suit everybody, loan or permanently.
