Ian Wright says Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks ‘as dangerous as we saw him under Carlo Ancelotti’ after Sean Dyche’s Everton beat Arsenal 1-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday.
The striker-turned-pundit shared how dominant Calvert-Lewin was being in the air, as well as in the penalty area, with Dyche making an instant impact on Merseyside.
It wasn’t so long ago, during Everton’s defeat to Southampton, that fans were chanting ‘you’re not fit to wear the shirt’ after the full-time whistle.

The mood was bleak, toxic and confidence-sapping and stinking of relegation. Up until Dyche replaced Frank Lampard.
Yes, it’s only one game and there is still a long way to go, but the former Burnley boss has already lifted a mood and club that has been on the floor for far too long.
Someone like Calvert-Lewin, who has been riddled with injuries, is another player that needs that confidence to get back to his best and Wright saw that in the England international over the weekend, as he told Premier League Productions (06/02/23 at 2:35 pm).
“All of a sudden, Calvert-Lewin started to look as dangerous as we saw him when he was under Ancelotti,” said Wright.
“He was in the box. Winning headers. Flying into balls coming inside the box. It’s going to be tough for people with Everton now.”

CAN CALVERT-LEWIN GET BACK TO HIS BEST?
During the past two seasons, Calvert-Lewin has six goals to his name, with injuries, the club’s form and a lack of rhythm all playing their part.
But could Dyche, who likes that style of striker, get the 25-year-old back to his best? One thing is for sure, if he does, then Everton will more than certainly stay up.
The only issue facing Calvert-Lewin is that he needs to stay out of the treatment room because that’s been his biggest issue.
