Speaking on The Redmen TV, Goal journalist Neil Jones has been discussing the rumours linking Matheus Nunes with a summer transfer move to Liverpool.
The Telegraph reported this story earlier this week, and usually, after this type of news emerges you get conflicting reports.
However, that hasn’t happened this time, and Jones is led to believe that this story is almost certiainly true.
Jones says that this story can absolutely be trusted due to the authors, stating that both John Percy and Sam Wallace are amongst the most trustworthy journalists on the beat, particularly with Wolves, at the moment.

Nunes story is reliable
Jones shared what he knows about this situation.
“Yeah, listen the first thing to say is it is a live story. With those two putting their names to it you can trust that story. John Percy is as connected as you can get from the Wolves angle as well, and Sam Wallace is well-connected as well with Mendes. There is an acceptance at Wolves with their policy, these players are just passing through, look at Jota as an example, and if he hadn’t injured himself Raul Jimenez would be on the move too,” Jones said.
Worth watching
This is a story worth keeping an eye on as we go into the summer.
As Jones says, this isn’t just your run of the mill transfer rumour coming from a questionable source, this is from two journalists who have proven links to both club and agent in this situation.
Liverpool clearly want Nunes, and it may not be long before we’re hearing word of this move accelerating.
A deal can’t happen this month due to the fact Nunes has already played for Wolves and Sporting this season, but this could end up being one of the first signings announced in the summer window.
