Reported Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal target Evan N’Dicka is set to sign a new contract with Eintracht Frankfurt – albeit with a £23 million release clause included, as reported by BILD.

The high-flying Eagles couldn’t have made their stance any more clear.

They won’t stand in N’Dicka’s way if the talented centre-back wants to become the latest Frankfurt star to leave the Commerzbank Arena for a bonafide European giant, following in the footsteps of Ante Rebic and Luka Jovic.

But Adi Hutter’s side are determined to ensure the former Auxerre ace, who moved to Germany for about £5 million three years ago, departs for a sizeable sum.

According to BILD, N’Dicka is expected to extend his current contract beyond 2023, his fine performances rewarded with a sizeable pay rise.

However, with a £23 million release clause included in his new deal, it seems Frankfurt are attempting to protect the value of their prized asset rather than tie N’Dicka down for the long haul.

With interest rising – particularly in England – the Bundesliga outfit must know such an affordable clause won’t go un-triggered for long.

BILD recently reported Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton and Jose Mourinho’s Spurs were keeping tabs on the Paris-born 21-year-old heading into the summer transfer window.

Arsenal, meanwhile, were in pole position, opening talks in March (The Express).

And, in this day and age, £23 million for a hugely promising, 21-year-old centre-back feels like the definition of good value.
