Fabian Balbuena and John Terry were impressed with Declan Rice as they praised the West Ham star on Instagram for his performance against Sheffield United on Sunday.

David Moyes’ side secured yet another win and clean sheet on the road, despite being unfancied by many before a ball was kicked this season.

One of the big reasons behind their strong start to the campaign is the performance of their rock in the middle of the park – Rice.

He has like a Pac-Man in the middle of the park, eating away at everything before him and he has now added extra drive and attacking intent to his game.

When Rice reacted on Instagram to ‘another great performance’ from West Ham, his teammate, Balbuena simply stated ‘As always brilliant bro’ added with fire emojis.

Whilst Aston Villa coach John Terry, whose side will face the Hammers next Monday, wrote: ‘Superb mate’, as the ex-Chelsea man is clearly a fan of the defensive-minded star.

Things are looking on the up for Rice because he is fast becoming one of the best number 6’s in the Premier League and a key player for his country.

He netted for the Three Lions during their UEFA Nations League encounter against Iceland and came close to doing so again at Bramall Lane.

All of this is elevating his game and it won’t be too long before he transforms from a defensive number six to a box-to-box number eight.
