Louis Saha is hoping Jude Bellingham joins Manchester United after being told that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are ‘favourites’ to sign the England midfielder, as he told The Games Cabin.

The former Premier League striker added that Bellingham is ‘so talented’ but warned that the Borrusia Dortmund star won’t just join a team just because he ‘loves’ and ‘respects’ them the most.

It is suggested that the 19-year-old’s hero growing up was Anfield legend, Steven Gerrard, so could that persuade the player to move to Merseyside?

Some would point towards Liverpool’s struggles in the Premier League and how no Champions League football will rule them out of the running in the summer.

But that hasn’t stopped someone like Gerrard from wanting to play his part, the former England captain made it clear that he would be willing to fly to Germany in order to lure Bellingham to Anfield.

Nonetheless, when Saha was told that Sky Germany think that the Reds are ‘favourites’ for Bellingham’s signature, he issued the following response.

“For a player that’s very young, he has the luxury of having interest from many, many big clubs,” said Saha.

“His heart should always go for the team he really loves, where he believes he can achieve a lot of things and where he believes he could improve. That’s up to him.

“As a fan of Manchester United, I would obviously say that Manchester United is the ideal destination for Jude. A lot of the time, players don’t necessarily go to the clubs they love and respect the most. A lot of it is to do with the salary and what their agents are thinking, so a lot of it will depend on that.

“The kid is so talented and he deserves to make his own choice. This season, Manchester United are so exciting and for a player like Jude, who’s got intelligence, great energy, composure and all the skills you need, then he can go anywhere he wants.”

LIVERPOOL AND MANCHESTER UNITED ARE UP FOR SALE…

This could prove to be significant because both clubs are up for sale by their respective owners – FSG and the Glazers.

Just how much will that affect what they do during the summer transfer window?

The January window suggests, not much, because Liverpool needed midfielders, yet nothing arrived, whilst Erik ten Hag signed Wout Weghorst to fill the void up top after Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit.

The issue is that it’s going to take serious, serious money to sign Bellingham, and whilst the player might happily play for either club, the powers that be might not be willing to push the boat out so much from a financial aspect, which will frustrate fans.
