Nat Phillips has told Jamal Niaz’s YouTube channel that it was ‘surreal’ training alongside players such as Daniel Sturridge at Liverpool.
The boyhood Bolton fan shared that he watched the Liverpool favourite in action at the Reebok and he then got to train with the talented star at Melwood years later.
And whilst Sturridge left Liverpool in 2019, he has still left a positive legacy for those on Merseyside.
Phillips, who enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in Liverpool colours this season, shared what his first few training sessions with the first team were like.
“My first experience of training with the first team at Liverpool,” said Phillips. “Like those moments were really surreal as well.
“Playing alongside players like James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge.
“Someone I watched at the Reebok as a Bolton fan. To go and then train and play alongside them as well. Those are surreal moments where you tell yourself as a kid that will be happening and you wouldn’t believe it.”

Sturridge hasn’t put on any football boots since being at Turkey last season and it’s a crying shame how his career ended in the Premier League.
The injuries were just too overpowering for the quick-footed Englishman, who produced one of the best partnerships with Luis Suarez during his peak years at Anfield.
It just goes to show the talent Sturridge had in his boots and what he would have been capable of doing over a longer period if he stayed out of the treatment room.
