Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers are looking for a new manager for the Gers, with Graeme Murty currently in charge.

Arthur Numan has suggested to The Sunday Post that Ibrox club Rangers will not be able to appoint former Gers players Giovanni van Bronckhorst or Frank de Boer as their manager.

Rangers are on the lookout for a new manager following the dismissal of Pedro Caixinha, with Graeme Murty in charge of the Gers at the moment.

The Glasgow giants recently tried to appoint Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes as their new manager, but their approach was turned down.

Just like McInnes, Van Bronckhorst is a former Rangers player. The former Netherlands international was on the books of the Ibrox club from 1998 to 2001.

The 42-year-old is in charge of Feyenoord at the moment and is doing quite well at the Dutch club.

De Boer has a spell at Rangers in 2004, and the former Netherlands international is without a managerial job at the moment.

The Dutchman, who has managed Ajax and Inter Milan, was dismissed as the manager of Premier League club Crystal Palace earlier this season.

Former Rangers full-back Numan, who played for the Ibrox club from 1998 until 2003, does not think that the Gers will be able to appoint either Van Bronckhorst or De Boer as their manager.

Numan told The Sunday Post: “I believe some Rangers supporters would want to see Gio van Bronckhorst or Frank de Boer taking over. But I just can’t see that happening just now.

“I haven’t spoken to them about it. But, with all respect, I can’t see them returning to Ibrox at this stage. If this was happening 15 or 20 years ago, then I could see Gio or Frank in charge.

“But Gio is adored at Feyenoord, where he has brought great success to the club, and got them into this season’s Champions League. Frank, meanwhile, will probably look towards Spain or Italy for his next job in management.”
