Glasgow Rangers have been given plenty to smile about following Steven Gerrard’s start to life at Ibrox.

Gerrard has enjoyed a very promising start to life at Ibrox. The Gers find themselves in a decent position in the Scottish Premiership, have a League Cup semi-final to look forward to today and are nicely placed in their Europa League group.
It certainly feels that something special could be happening at Rangers. And while a brilliant summer window has been a key reason for their success, Numan suggested that Gerrard and his coaching staff deserve a lot of praise given the improvement made by several players.
“James Tavernier is now a much more accomplished footballer.

“Alfredo Morelos is now a big-game player whereas last season there were questions over his ability to score in the top games.
“Andy Halliday has also found a good bit of form after he was questioned last season. Young Glenn Middleton has really caught the eye.”
Tavernier has been superb this season. He has relished wearing the armband and is actually the second highest goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership, scoring five goals from right-back.

Meanwhile, Morelos has four goals in the league and 12 in all competitions, including six in his last seven.
It appeared inevitable heading into this season that Middleton would force his way into the first-team at some stage. Nevertheless, it has still been something of a surprise how quickly he has managed to break into the side, and he has been rewarded with a new contract.
And given that Halliday seems to have been written off so many times in the last few years, it is remarkable just how much of a turnaround he has enjoyed.
