The left-footed star has been crucial to West Ham’s fight against relegation.

Now six points clear of the bottom three, West Ham United have one hand on Premier League safety after their excellent 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
A handful of players have dramatically upped their game since the arrival of David Moyes to help the Hammers remain in the top flight and avoid a relegation dogfight, including the likes of James Collins, Mark Noble and Marko Arnautovic.
But one player has improved from one end of the spectrum to the other, namely Arthur Masuaku.

When he first joined in the summer of 2016 from Olympiakos, the Frenchman looked like another example of Slaven Bilic’s poor work in the transfer market.
However, the 24-year-old has gone up more than just a gear this season, being used at left-back or even on the left flank in Moyes’ side and beginning to have a real impact in claret and blue.
Indeed, he has been integral to the Hammers fight to avoid the drop this season and the hard work is beginning to pay off, as Masuaku becomes one of the first names on the team sheet in a side that sit comfortably in 14th.

His efforts deserve to be recognised, with the Daily Star claiming he earns just £25,000 a week – the same wage as flop defender Sam Byram, 24, and the Hammers need to address that sooner rather than later.
Reports have even suggested that the DR Congo international is attracting the interest of Manchester United and Roma, and a new deal in the offing should be high on David Moyes’ agenda.
