West Ham United are reportedly keen to offload Arthur Masuaku this summer.
West Ham United are back in action this weekend as they travel to take on Cardiff City, with Manuel Pellegrini looking to pick up another win.
The Hammers beat Newcastle United 2-0 last weekend, and are showing real momentum as they look to finish in the top half of the Premier League table.
However, they may have to go into battle with Cardiff without left back Aaron Cresswell, as he was substituted with a nasty head injury against Newcastle.
Cresswell is something of a doubt for the game, and that means that Arthur Masuaku should be starting unless Pellegrini offers another game to youngster Ben Johnson.
Masuaku appears to be coming to the end of his time at the London Stadium, with The Daily Mirror (12/2/19, page 56) claiming that the Hammers are hoping to sell the DR Congo international this summer.
He still has a part to play for now, despite starting just one league game in 2019, and he can even look to impress this weekend in order to put himself in the shop window for other clubs.
Masuaku isn’t a great defender, but David Moyes did get the best out of him last season as a left wing back or left-sided midfielder, and Masuaku needs to use this rare opportunity to show that he still has quality.
Premier League clubs may well take a look as Masuaku, or teams on the continent after spells in France and Greece, with Masuaku certainly having value to another team in the right role.
West Ham will also be hoping that he impresses in order to offload him, though even an incredible display is unlikely to make Pellegrini keep him, with West Ham needing a new option at left back.
