In September last year, Mikel Arteta lauded Thomas Frank for the brilliant job he had done at Brentford, who is now speculated with replacing Frank Lampard as Everton boss.

Journalist Alan Nixon has reported on his Patreon-powered blog that the Toffees are looking to appoint the 49-year-old.

Well, if a certain Mikel Arteta is a fan of Thomas Frank, Everton could well make a stupendous managerial appointment.

After a positive start of the season in which Frank Lampard had managed to elevate the Merseyside-based side’s defence to the next level, things started to go awry.

Tasting a 2-0 defeat to David Moyes’ West Ham United on the weekend, Everton found themselves sitting in 19th place.

After a summer where the club seemed to have made smart signings such as Amadou Onana, Conor Coady, James Tarkowski, Neil Maupay and Nathan Patterson, things wear pear-shaped relatively quickly after the initial honeymoon period at the start of the campaign.

Luckily for Everton, arguably the best-performing manager in the Premier League in Mikel Arteta once expressed his admiration towards Thomas Frank, who could now come in to succeed Frank Lampard.

Back in September 2022, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta waxed lyrical about Everton-linked tactician Thomas Frank, who seems to be lined up by the club to replace Frank Lampard.

“I think he’s [Thomas Frank] has done an incredible job with himself and the coaching staff. The club, the clarity, the philosophy and the vision that they had and how they have executed it, they’re constantly evolving…I think they deserve a lot of praise for what they’ve done”, Arteta told Arsenal’s official website ahead of their 3-0 win against the Bees.

When it comes to managers, Mikel Arteta and his judgement is one to be trusted, as Everton seem keen to hire Thomas Frank as their Frank Lampard successor now.
