Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has suggested on the club’s official website that Matt Turner could soon make his debut in the Premier League.
Arteta made the comments after Turner’s performance for Arsenal against Bodo/Glimt away from home in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.
The 28-year-old USA international goalkeeper kept a clean sheet.
Arsenal won 1-0.
Turner has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League for the Gunners, and manager Arteta has suggested that he could soon get a chance.

Arteta said on Arsenal’s official website about Turner: “He’s improving, he’s getting better, we are demanding things that are different to what other managers have demanded him to do. He was much better in the first half than the second half.
“In my opinion we can have more control, he was phenomenal in goal, the way he reads the situation, especially the defending the back of the central defenders, when he needs to control the space there, the way he set himself in the one on one situation he had, was really good.”
When asked if he is confident in Turner starting a Premier League game, Arteta said: “Yes.”

The American was very good at saving shots, and he also showcased his ability with the ball at his feet.
Turner is a very good back-up to Aaron Ramsdale, and it would make sense for Arteta to give him a chance in the Premier League soon.
Arsenal are doing extremely well in the Premier League and in the UEFA Europa League, and Turner will play his role for the North London club in the coming weeks and months.
