Mikel Arteta has revealed on Sky Sports that David Luiz fronted up in the dressing room after his nightmare display for Arsenal against Manchester City last night.
Arsenal were beaten 3-0 by City yesterday, and Luiz was heavily criticised for his role in the defeat.
The Brazilian defender made two horrible errors which allowed City to score their first two goals in the game.
Luiz first miscontrolled a Kevin de Bruyne pass, with his touch taking the ball directly into Raheem Sterling’s path, before he gave away a penalty and was sent off.
The experienced defender was clearly crestfallen when he was leaving the field, but Luiz owned up to his errors in the dressing room.
“He has spoken in the dressing room,” Arteta revealed. “David is someone who is honest and straightforward. He will talk to you guys.

“My feeling on David hasn’t changed, what he has done for the team and for me. It won’t change because he had a difficult game tonight.”
It has been claimed that Arteta wants to keep Luiz at Arsenal, even though his current deal is expiring.
Luiz is on a sizeable contract and may have to accept a pay cut to stay at the Emirates Stadium.
If he does stick around, Luiz’s first-team chances will surely be more limited next term with William Saliba due to arrive in the summer.
