Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that Bukayo Saka has to score more goals and should do better defensively.
Arteta made the comments following Arsenal’s 4-2 win against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Saka played as a winger against Leeds, and his performance impressed Arsenal fans.
According to WhoScored, the teenager took one shot which was not on target, had a pass accuracy of 82.1%, won one header, took 49 touches, attempted three dribbles, made one tackle, and put in three crosses.
Arteta, too, was pleased to see the 19-year-old, who can also operate as a left-back, play well, but the Spaniard added that there are areas where the England international needs to improve.
The Spaniard told Football.London about Saka: “He’s playing really, really well, he can still get much better. He’s got that room he’s got the intelligence and he’s got the desire.
“His aim has to be to do better to score more goals, to be more efficient in the final third and as well a lot of things defensively he has to do a lot better, improve them day by day because he’s got the ability.”

Improving and developing
Saka is developing and progressing well at Arsenal, but as Arteta pointed out, there are still elements in the youngster’s game that can get better.
It is great management from the Spaniard not to let Saka get carried away with his current form.
According to WhoScored, Saka has made 20 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Arsenal so far this season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in the process.
