Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing the player who dumped Tottenham Hotspur out of Europe last week.
According to The Times [print edition, page 66 on March 25], the Gunners want to sign Mislav Orsic after his hat-trick against Spurs in the Europa League.
Tottenham had one foot in the quarter-final of the competition, but the Dinamo Zagreb attacker scored a second-leg hat-trick to dump Jose Mourinho’s side out of the competition.
Arsenal might well need another striker this summer in light of strong reports that Alexandre Lacazette may be leaving the club.
And here’s how some fans of the Emirates Stadium club reacted to potentially signing the Croatian:
Clearly a hat-trick against a Premier League side like Tottenham is nothing to be sniffed at.
But it’s worth pointing out that Orsic is 28 and although he can play anywhere across the front three, and has 19 goals in 36 games this season, it seems unlikely that Arsenal would bring in a player already in the peak of his career.
But if they do, his heroics against Mourinho’s side will certainly earn him a warm welcome.
