A lot of Arsenal fans are already frustrated with Mikel Arteta as head coach – and for very good reason.
The Gunners began the weekend 15th in the Premier League table and they’re averaging less than one goal per game, after scoring 10 times in 11 matches so far.
For whatever reason, Arteta, who led Arsenal to FA Cup glory in August, isn’t getting the same tune out of these boys as the back end of last season, to the point where quite a few supporters genuinely want to see the back of him.
But the Spaniard might annoy the heck out of a lot more fans if this report is true.
According to Eurosport, Arsenal are willing to move William Saliba out of the club next month and that there is ‘no future’ for the 19-year-old Frenchman in North London under the 38-year-old coach.
Saliba is an exciting prospect but one who Arteta hasn’t given a single minute of competitive football too yet, after returning from his loan at Saint-Etienne last season.
This is a towering centre-back who set them back £27 million in the summer of 2019.
Arteta’s decision to not play Saliba is unpopular, but it’s nothing compared to the vitriol that may come his way if he sells the kid in January.
Here’s how some Arsenal fans are reacting to the report by Eurosport:
