Mikel Arteta has told Football London that Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has been incredible in training recently.
Tierney has struggled for fitness during his first season at Arsenal, after making the move down from Celtic last summer.
The Scottish international has not been able to show the Emirates Stadium crowd his talents since joining, as he has constantly suffered with injury.
However, Tierney has worked very hard to get fit over the break, with the Arsenal left-back actually seeming to benefit from the time off.
Tierney has now become an important part of Arsenal’s starting line-up since the resumption of play and he has put in some impressive performances.
And Arteta only had positive words about the 23-year-old, after he helped Arsenal to a 2-1 win over Sheffield United yesterday.
“He’s been training incredibly hard through the pandemic,” Arteta said.
“It’s been a very tough moment coming six-months after moving here, a different city, different football club but he’s a kid with an incredible attitude.

“He’s so willing to learn, to put everything he has [in], he has a massive heart and I’m delighted to have him. He’s a kid that’s going to get better.”
Tierney has been one of the positives for Arsenal recently, despite their shaky form.
The former Celtic defender has looked very solid defensively and has proven a threat going forward.
Arsenal beat Sheffield United yesterday thanks to goals from Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos.
