Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react over news about Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal have announced that the English goalkeeper has been named as the Gunners’ Player of the Month for November.

This is the second month in succession that Ramsdale has scooped the award in North London.

And as a result, some supporters of the Emirates Stadium club feel that it’s quite a damning indictment on Mikel Arteta’s squad as a whole.

Damning

Honestly, yes it doesn’t reflect very well on Arsenal that their goalkeeper is their best performer in October and November.

It suggests that Arteta’s outfield players aren’t flourishing and letting the opponent get too many shots off, which is true.

The Londoners have lost three of their last four Premier League games, beating only bottom-of-the-table Newcastle United during this period.

Arsenal have also shipped no fewer than nine goals during these four encounters, hence why Ramsdale has scooped the award because without the former Sheffield United goalkeeper, the goals conceded tally would’ve been far more dismal.

Actually, you could very well argue that Ramsdale has been Arteta’s Player of the Season so far.

Arsenal spent £30 million on bringing him to the Emirates Stadium but you have to say, he has been immense.

Problem is, so many of his teammates have failed miserably and therefore, Ramsdale is being called into action much more regularly.

How the Gooners would love to see an attacking player win Player of the Month for December but, after both outings so far – losing to Everton and Manchester United – it really hasn’t been a promising start.

Fortunes could, in theory, change because Arsenal’s next three games are against Southampton and West Ham United – both at the Emirates – and then away to Leeds United on December 18.

Winnable games but when your goalkeeper is your best player, nothing is guaranteed.
