It’s been a slow start to life at Arsenal for Fabio Vieira.
The 22-year-old joined Mikel Arteta’s side this past summer in a £34 million transfer from Porto.
However, he was injured for the first couple months after arriving in North London and didn’t make his full Premier League debut until the sixth week of the campaign.
He is on the periphery of Arteta’s best XI at Arsenal but the Spanish manager dropped an exciting claim in midweek, after the defeat by Brighton in the EFL Cup.
Arteta told the Gunners’ official website after the game that the imminent break from the World Cup will see him become ‘very good’ once the domestic schedule resumes.

He said: “Well he’s missed a big part because he came and he was injured for two and a half months. So he’s missed a whole pre-season, and I think that period now in the World Cup [break] is going to make him very good.”
This is exciting because Arsenal are probably going to be top of the Premier League come Christmas.
And once we get into the second half of the campaign, it would help tremendously if Arteta has a replenished Vieira to come off the bench.
Of course, the player himself won’t be content with simply being a squad player; he’ll be up for challenging the likes of Martin Odegaard at number 10 or Gabriel Martinelli on the left-hand side of attack.
Winning the title is a squad game and although some say Arteta’s pack is short compared to Manchester City, having a talent like Vieira under the surface can only be a good thing.
